If these passengers have a current COVID test taken less than 96 hours before departure, only then are they allowed to proceed on their domestic legs without delay.

The ministry of civil aviation has now issued guidelines that allow airports like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore to carry out RT-PCR tests within the airport premises for those international arrival passengers who need to fly onwards to a domestic destination. This will be a big relief for the Indian diaspora planning to return to the country as travel restrictions are eased all over the world.
Currently, a passenger booked on a London-Mumbai-Nagpur flight would be allowed to fly onwards to Nagpur after landing in Mumbai only if he/she has a COVID-19 test which was carried out less than 96 hours before departure from London. If not, a new test and result process at present takes up to two days in a hotel quarantine in Mumbai.
International airports like Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore that handle the major load of the international arrivals are gearing up to carry out the RT-PCR tests inside the premises.
