Who We Are

Informed Aviator is a professional aviation knowledge platform delivering practical insights on flying, flight safety, aviation technology, aviation history and the people behind aviation.

Aviation is much more than aircraft taking off and landing. It is a fascinating combination of technology, human judgement, discipline, leadership, innovation and experience. Informed Aviator was created to explore these dimensions of aviation and to bring together people who share a genuine interest in understanding how aviation works and, more importantly, what we can learn from it.

Our aim is simple: to inform, educate, encourage discussion and make aviation knowledge accessible to a wider community.

We publish original articles, insights, analysis and opinions covering subjects that are relevant to pilots, aviation professionals, students, enthusiasts and anyone with an interest in flight. Our content ranges from practical aspects of flying and flight safety to aviation technology, aircraft development, historic milestones and the remarkable people who have shaped aviation.

While many aviation platforms focus primarily on news and current events, Informed Aviator takes a more content-driven and evergreen approach. We believe that some of the most valuable aviation knowledge is not necessarily today’s headline, but the lessons and insights that remain relevant long after the news cycle has ended.

Flight safety is an important part of our focus. Aviation accidents and incidents provide valuable lessons, but understanding those lessons requires looking beyond what happened. Our objective is not to sensationalise accidents, but to understand them and learn from them.
