Lufthansa’s new Boeing 777 Freighter is called ‘Namaste India’
Lufthansa’s ‘Namaste India’ Campaign
“Namaste India.” That’s the name Lufthansa Cargo has chosen for its brand new Boeing 777 freighter aircraft. The aircraft — which has its name written in Hindi also — flew into Frankfurt from the US to join the German air freight transport major’s fleet on August 31.
“The new aircraft bears the name ‘Namaste India’, which it has taken over from an aircraft with the registration D-ALCJ (a McDonnell Douglas MD-11) that has been taken out of service.”
A brand-new Boeing 777F landed at Frankfurt Airport 31 August 31, 2020. The aircraft with registration D-ALFH was flown from Everett Airport in Washington State, USA to Frankfurt. It is the eighth aircraft of this type in Lufthansa Cargo’s freighter fleet.

Similar Earlier Campaign
In 2015, an MD-11 freighter of Lufthansa Cargo was named “Namaste India”. The name symbolized the significance of India as one of the most important markets for global air freight services. Lufthansa Cargo has had long-standing connections with customers in the Indian air cargo industry since 1959. The first freighter operation was carried out in the 1970s. From, then there has been a steady expansion of the business, making India a crucial market for the carrier.
The Boeing 777 is ideally suited for this role because of the long-range and cargo-carrying potential. Many of the long-haul international routes from India to the US and Europe are operated by the Boeing 777.
